Washington State Library's Bush family of Cowlitz County, Washington collection, 1944-1953.

This collection consists of 2 hand-written loose-leaf notebooks. The first notebook titled, "Life story of Mrs. J. H. Hadley composed by her son T.H. Hadley", is inscribed "To Neil A. Bush from Grandma Bush, 1944." The second notebook isn't titled but it begins with the story of John Dean Bush (1799-1885). This notebook has many of the descendants' names, birth and death dates along with a narrative. There is a hand-written letter from "E.P" to Mrs. C. Matteson of Mapleton, OR in July 1953 includes words delivered at E.P.'s mother's funeral.

Maud P. Mitchell was born about 1883 in Oregon. She married Chas. R. Mitchell and by 1920 they were living in Chehalis, WA. Charles was an assistant cashier at the bank. Charles had become a banker by 1930. Between 1957 & 1958 Charles passed away. And Maud passed away on 29 May 1960 in Chehalis, WA.
